Steven Erickson

Steve Erickson has over 20 years of experience in higher education. Dr. Erickson is a data-informed leader that values inclusion, collaboration, and innovation. He has held faculty and administrative positions at two-year colleges providing leadership in academic and student affairs, institutional research, data analytics, planning, information technology, and accreditation.

Dr. Erickson currently serves Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) as the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Technology Solutions. Prior positions at M State include several academic dean roles including senior dean of eCampus, senior dean of the Detroit Lakes campus, and dean of technical programs. Before joining M State, Erickson was an academic and student affairs administrator at Heald College in Oregon. He has held faculty roles in mathematics and engineering technology at Heald College and Mt. Hood Community College. Prior to entering the field of education, Erickson was an electrical and biomedical engineer focusing on test engineering, systems engineering, and high-frequency ultrasound research.

Dr. Erickson earned a doctoral degree in higher education from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. He holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa.
