Erin Van Egmond is the Vice President of College Advancement and the Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Community College Foundation, where she continues her commitment to helping students overcome financial barriers to achieve higher education. Erin has dedicated her career to supporting students and has been a vital part of the GRCC community since 1998, starting as a student worker in the Financial Aid Department and becoming the foundation's Associate Director in 2015.
Under her leadership, the GRCC Foundation has awarded significant scholarships—$1.3 million to 1,642 students in the 2021-2022 fiscal year—demonstrating the foundation's commitment to student success. Erin emphasizes the importance of community investment in education, stating, "An investment in a student is an investment in our community."
Throughout her tenure, Erin has held several positions within the foundation, including Donor Relations Coordinator and Director of Alumni Relations, contributing to fundraising efforts and community engagement. The foundation also partners with donors on capital campaigns to enhance college facilities, with recent projects including renovations of Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall and the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center.
A native of Grand Rapids, Erin earned her associate degree from GRCC before completing her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master’s in Higher Education and Adult Learners at Grand Valley State University. She serves on the board of the Michigan American Council on Education Women’s Network (MI-ACE) and mentors aspiring professionals in higher education.
