Jamie L. Gordon was appointed to the Board of Trustees in May 2026 for a term ending Dec. 31, 2026. As the executive director of human resources for Kentwood Public Schools, Trustee Gordon brings a wealth of administrative expertise and a deep-rooted passion for educational excellence to the Board.
Prior to her current role, Trustee Gordon dedicated 23 years to Grand Rapids Public Schools, serving in a variety of key educational and leadership positions. She has also been instrumental in promoting cultural enrichment, leading initiatives in Black History and Multicultural programming and facilitating college tours to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Trustee Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Cornerstone University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University. She was honored as the 2024 Phyllis Scott Activist Giants Award winner and most recently named the HR Professional of the Year by the Michigan Association of School Personnel Administrators.
