Juan serves as a recruiter for GRCC Adult Recruitment. His role focuses on helping individuals explore and pursue their post-secondary goals while building connections with community partners. Juan is passionate about helping individuals take the next step in their educational journey and believes that no one should have to navigate roadblocks alone.
Juan has a passion for helping others achieve their goals through education and training. Whether someone is interested in earning their GED, pursuing a skilled trade, certificate, or college degree, he believes that post-secondary education can open the door to meaningful opportunities and sustainable careers.
As a first-generation college student himself, Juan understands some of the challenges students can face when navigating higher education and finding the right support. This experience motivates him to make sure that the people he works with know they have someone they can reach out to for guidance. He strives to connect students and community members with the resources and support they need to move forward.
Originally from California, Juan moved to Michigan in 2014 to attend Michigan State University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Pre-Law, with minors in Chicano/Latino Studies and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. He is currently pursuing his master's degree through Michigan State University's Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) program.
