Soledad Salgado serves as the Student Success Navigator within the Center for High-Impact Experiences at Grand Rapids Community College. In this role, she supports students beyond their initial connection to the Center by helping them navigate opportunities, overcome barriers, and progress through high-impact learning experiences that align with their personal, academic, and career goals.
Through proactive outreach, relationship-based coaching, and data-informed support, Soledad guides students in creating a meaningful and connected experience at GRCC—fostering a sense of belonging, confidence, and sustained engagement that supports their long-term success.
Soledad brings a deeply personal commitment to this work. A first-generation high school and college graduate from GRCC, she was born in Morelos, Mexico, and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her own journey of resilience and determination shapes how she connects with and supports students as they pursue their goals.
Since 2017, Soledad has served GRCC in multiple roles including student work and contingency employee with Financial Aid and Adult Education, Bridges to College program before joining the Center for High-Impact Experiences.
She is passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential and is committed to helping them take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.
