Welcome to GRCC! Iām Zack!
As your advisor, I know each personās path is a little different. If you are feeling more of the skilled trades routes, awesome. If you want to transfer to a university, thatās cool too. If you are unsure, that is totally fine; I have been there! I want to help you get to your goal whatever that may be at GRCC!
I attended Central Michigan University for Secondary Education. I had lots of interests, and changed majors, a lot, but eventually made it to graduation where I was certified in teaching science and ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages). It took me a bit longer than expected, but hey, I got it done!
I was one of the first in my family to go to college and took classes at three different community colleges. I learned first-hand the importance of knowing what classes do and do not transfer, and the importance of asking for help. I get there are things that do not go to plan: I failed classes, worked multiple jobs, juggled full time school, and other things life throws at you. I eventually got my Masters at Michigan State in Student Affairs Administration, started working at Lansing CC, and now I am here at GRCC.
I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey here at GRCC!
