Highlights
GRCC’s Water to Work program received the Exemplary Credit Program Award from the National Council for Workforce Education, a prestigious recognition honoring innovative workforce development programs.
The Adult Education program in partnership with Kent ISD was honored with the 2025 Michigan Adult Education Program Partnership of the Year.
GRCC received a National Science Foundation Grant to enhance GRCC’s Artificial Intelligence program.
The GRCC Marketing and Communications team received seven Medallion awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).
GRCC celebrated the five-year anniversary of its partnership with the Grand Rapids Promise Zone and its new collaborations with Ferris State University and Grand Valley State University.
GRCC offered new academic programs based on growing industries and student transfer intentions. Notable new programs include:
- Artificial Intelligence, A.A.A.S.
- Cloud Computing
- Data Science, A.A.A.S.

- Pre-Early Childhood General and Special Education & Lower Elementary Education: Birth through Grade 3, A.A. (WMU)
- Pre-Environmental and Sustainability Studies, A.A. (GVSU)
- Pre-Optometry, A.A. (Ferris State University)
Learning First at GRCC
- GRCC offers the first two years of a university-level education with a community college philosophy.
- Over 94% of GRCC faculty hold a Master’s Degree or Ph.D. and are committed to excellence in teaching. They also bring scholarly and real-world experience to the classroom in order to best prepare students for further education and for careers.
- Learning opportunities are offered in flexible formats including in-person, hybrid, online and virtual courses.
- GRCC is committed to the individual student’s experience and provides a wide range of student support services such as tutoring, academic advising and counseling services all free of charge.
- Classes are offered at the campuses in downtown Grand Rapids, on the Lakeshore in Holland and online.
- GRCC has six middle college partners and seven concurrent enrollment locations.
- In an effort to provide seamless educational pathways for students, GRCC maintains partnerships with regional high schools and technical centers, articulated program agreements with four-year partners, and reverse transfer agreements with local universities.
- As an open access institution, GRCC provides learning opportunities to students at all levels of preparation, from classes and support that help students become college-ready to our honors program for high achieving students to challenge them for even greater success.
- Grand Rapids Community College currently offers twelve academic pathways, with a variety of programs within each academic pathway. The twelve GRCC Academic Pathways are:
