New Employee Onboarding

Congratulations and welcome to GRCC! We are thrilled to have you as part of our diverse, hardworking, excellent, thriving and innovative Community College!

As a new employee, we are here to help you grow as part of our community, so please let us know how we can help you with whatever questions you have. You can contact Talent Development at talent_development@grcc.edu. We are not just here to orient you to our college, we are here to integrate you into our community!

What to expect on your first day

Please arrive to the DeVos Campus, Administration Building at 415 East Fulton Ave. NE. You can park behind the building in any two-hour visitor parking spot. Your New Employee Orientation will be held in Sneden Hall, located next door. Please head to the parking lot to the front entrance of the building. A member of our Talent Development team will greet you in the lobby.

Your first day will be a full-day New Employee Orientation (NEO) designed to help you feel welcomed, informed, and prepared to begin your work at GRCC. Throughout the day, you’ll engage with colleagues from across the college and learn about key areas that support your success, including:

  • Completing remaining HR paperwork
  • An overview of technology tools and systems with IT
  • Campus safety information with Campus Police
  • Receiving your RaiderCard (employee ID)
  • An introduction to GRCC’s culture, employee engagement, and community
  • A guided campus tour

Scheduled breaks and lunch will be provided.

The following workday, you will report directly to your department, where your supervisor and colleagues will be ready to welcome you and help you begin settling into your role.

Compliance Training

We ask that new employees review/complete various compliance trainings. You will receive an email from Human Resources with further instructions.

New Employee Checklist

We want to ensure that you, as a new employee, feel welcome and are certain of your new role and surroundings. Therefore, we have developed a checklist of helpful items that your supervisor will connect with you on regularly throughout your first few weeks at the college.
