Ottawa County Gap Grant

You can increase your earning potential and expand your employment options by earning a tuition-free college degree from Grand Rapids Community College.

The Michigan Reconnect Program covers tuition for those 21 years or older without a college degree at the in-district resident rate. Additionally, the Ottawa County Gap Grant makes it possible for Ottawa County residents to attend GRCC tuition-free by covering the difference between in-district and out-of-district tuition.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

  • Meet all Michigan Reconnect Scholarship eligibilities.
    • Be 21 years or older at the time of application.
    • Have not previously earned an associate or bachelor’s degree.
    • Meet federal financial aid eligibility requirements, including:
      • Be either a US citizen or an eligible non-citizen, based on federal financial aid requirements.
      • Have a high school diploma or GED.
