What is on the English Assessment?
The English assessment requires you to write one essay, giving you the chance to demonstrate your reading comprehension and ability to analyze a passage. Your essay is scored manually by professionals in the English Department, and scores are usually available within 1–3 business days. You will be notified when your score is posted, along with a list of recommended courses based on your results. Please note that testing staff cannot interpret your scores.
Taking the English Assessment
The English assessment is available through your Canvas account in your MyGRCC dashboard. If you experience any difficulty accessing it, please refer to this instructional video.
- If you prefer to use the testing center on the main campus, no appointment is needed. A photo ID is required. Testing at the Lakeshore location is available by appointment only.
