It does not matter how old you are, what language you speak, or how much education you have. Adult Education ESL can help you get from where you are to where you want to go.
We are offering our weekday classes virtually through Zoom and hybrid during the weekends. Technology and internet access are required to participate in our program.

Enrollment Process
- Fill out the Adult Education interest form to be placed in the call list for the next semesters.
- Take the CASAS pre-tests and pay $5 non-refundable, testing fee.
- If you are eligible to enroll for ESL Classes, pay the $25, non-refundable for class registration fee per semester.
Requirements for the ESL Program
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Score 200 – 235 on the CASAS Pre-test to be eligible in our program per state requirements.
- Have a valid government issued ID or Passport (Foreign ID are acceptable)

Located in downtown Grand Rapids, we offer high-quality English proficiency instruction to residents in neighborhood sites that are accessible and familiar.
Our programs are funded by Michigan Workforce Development Agency which meet all federal and state guidelines.

Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Annual Security Report (ASR)
A copy of the GRCC's Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for review. This report is required by the federal law and contains statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain non-campus buildings or property owned and controlled by GRCC; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
