ā Provide friendly, professional customer service to visitors, students, faculty, and staff while ensuring front-line coverage for safety and security within the facility.
ā Assist students and community members from diverse backgrounds with college information and postsecondary education resources.
ā Respond to incoming calls, emails, and in-person inquiries efficiently and professionally.
ā Provide basic guidance on enrollment steps, including placement testing, financial aid, and registration processes.
ā Support recruitment, outreach, and student success initiatives both on and off campus (e.g., Student Block Party, Orientation, commencement, success programs, and information sessions).
ā Assist with the planning and execution of events, including registration, check-in, materials preparation, and room setup/breakdown for campus programs, conferences, and cultural events (e.g., Latino Youth Conference, African Male Conference, G3, etc.).
ā Facilitate campus visits and tours, and assist with new student orientation as needed.
ā Help students navigate campus resources and services to support a successful transition into college.
ā Provide basic technology and administrative support, including password resets, document preparation, copying, and assisting with computers and printers.
ā Assist faculty and staff with classroom setup and inventory of materials, as needed.
ā Collaborate with departments within the Strategic Outreach divisionāincluding Admissions, Orientation, High School Partnerships, Learning Center GRPS, Adult Recruitment, and Michigan Reconnectāto support student engagement and enrollment initiatives.
ā Perform other duties as assigned by the Strategic Outreach APSS or Dean.
ā Bilingual Spanish-English preferred but not required.
ā Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and interpersonal skills in a demanding multi-tasking work environment.
ā Ability to work effectively with people of diverse ages, ethnic, language-barriers, and socio-economic backgrounds.
ā Knowledge in Gmail, Zoom, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
ā Willingness to learn new systems such as PeopleSoft, Element451, etc.
ā Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
ā Must be able to work with limited supervision.
ā Adhere to departmental dress code.
ā Must be dependable and reliable.
