Scene Shop Assistant

up to 16 hours per week. Flexible. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
• Assist the Theater Technical Director with day-to-day operations in the scene shop which include, but not limited to, drafting set deigns, constructing sets, etc.
• Fabricate and construct scenery pieces.
• Assist in assembling AND striking stage scenery.
• Operate power woodworking tools safely and effectively.
• Organize and maintain the shop space to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and understand set drafts.
• Capable of working independently while following safety practice.
• Experience with power tools is preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety practices in a scene shop.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
