ā Greet and direct visitors, students, members of the College, and the public, and
respond appropriately to requests made in person, via telephone, voicemail, group
messaging, via e-mail and/or other relevant technologies.
ā Use campus systems to figure out why a student might not qualify for an appointment
and let them know what corrective action they need to take.
ā Schedule and/or assist students in making appointments using Navigate.
ā Perform filing, copying, general housekeeping and other clerical requests.
ā Other duties and projects as assigned.
ā Ability to provide excellent customer service in a high-paced demanding work
environment.
ā Ability to work with and respect diverse populations.
ā Project a professional image, including punctuality and good attendance record.
ā High positive energy level and interest in helping and supporting students, staff and the
community.
ā Must be proficient in verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
ā Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
ā Must use good judgment in handling sensitive or difficult situations in a pleasant and
professional manner.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
ā Preferred but not required: Must have completed at least 12 credits at Grand Rapids
Community College with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.Ā
ā Preferred but not required: Minimum of six (6) months customer service experience.Ā
ā Preferred but not required: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Internet skills,
PeopleSoft, Online Student Center and Canvas.
ā Bi-lingual candidates preferred.
