Child Development, A.A.A.S.

Graduate with a Child Development Associate Degree and you will be qualified to teach in child care centers or work as a Pre-K to 3rd grade teachers aide in public schools. With with experience in the field, you will also become qualified to direct child care centers, head Start programs, and part-day preschools.

Through your coursework for your degree, you will be involved in a variety of hands-on lab experiences with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-age, and special needs children at the GRCC Lab Preschool and other sites in the community.

Child Development is a field of study that will prepare you to provide care and education for children from birth through age eight. In your job you will provide interactions and learning experiences that promote a young child’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth and development.
