GRCC Student Showcase

Honors reception

The GRCC Student Showcase is a campus-wide celebration that highlights the exceptional work and learning experiences of our students throughout the academic year. Held on our downtown Grand Rapids campus in the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center, the Showcase brings together faculty, staff, community partners, families, and guests to recognize student excellence and strengthen a shared sense of belonging at Grand Rapids Community College. Through poster and classroom presentations, students are given a meaningful platform to share their accomplishments, be seen and celebrated, and feel encouraged as they continue their educational and professional journeys—at GRCC and beyond.

Brief Event Details

  • Friday, April 17 from noon-3 p.m.
  • Grand Rapids Campus, ATC (Banquet Rooms and Piazza)
  • Parking and food will be provided.

Event Overview

The GRCC Student Showcase is designed as an open-house style event, allowing guests to arrive, explore, and depart at their convenience throughout the afternoon. Student presenters will be stationed either in the Secchia Piazza (poster presentations) or in one of the Banquet Rooms (brief classroom-style presentations), based on their assigned format.

Throughout the event, students will share work connected to a wide range of high-impact learning experiences, including education abroad, leadership, capstone or honors projects, research, community engagement, internships and community-based experiences, fine or performing arts, group projects, and other unique course assignments. Guests are encouraged to move freely between presentation spaces, engage in conversation with presenters, and learn more about the depth and impact of student learning taking place at Grand Rapids Community College.

Light appetizers and desserts will be available, and the atmosphere is intentionally welcoming, celebratory, and conversational—focused on creating meaningful connections and recognizing student achievement.

Are you interested in being showcased?

We are seeking GRCC students from all programs and disciplines to present at this year’s GRCC Student Showcase & Recognition Event. Student presenters will deliver a 6–8 minute presentation highlighting a meaningful academic, creative, or experiential learning experience.

Presentations may feature a wide range of work, including leadership experiences, honors or capstone projects, research, community engagement, internships or community-based experiences, portfolios, creative work, or other significant course-based or co-curricular learning experiences. The Showcase is designed to reflect the breadth and depth of student learning taking place across Grand Rapids Community College.

Participating in the GRCC Student Showcase provides students with an opportunity to share their work with peers, faculty, staff, and community members, strengthen communication and presentation skills, receive recognition for their accomplishments, and celebrate their learning in a supportive, campus-wide environment.

To learn more about presentation expectations, please contact Katie Peña at katherinepena@grcc.edu. Students interested in presenting should submit the Interest Form by Friday, March 20.
