Behavioral Intervention Team

The Behavioral Intervention Team is designed to help detect early indicators of the potential for disruptive conduct, self-harm, and the risk of violence to others. The team intakes and assesses information, takes action when necessary and tracks details about behavior concerns noted on campus.

Our focus is care and concern for students, faculty, and staff members who may be in distress. We coordinate resources and implement a centralized response, with the goals of providing assistance to the individual and keeping our community healthy and safe.

If your concern involves an immediate safety risk to self or others, call campus police at (616) 234-4911 or 911 immediately.
