Policy Title: Board-Staff-Student-Community Relations
In their individual and collective interactions and relationships with College faculty, staff and students or with individuals or institutions of the greater community, Trustees' conduct shall be governed by the Policy for Board Members Code of Conduct. Further in such relationships, each Trustee shall indicate that he/she is not representing the Board of Trustees unless specifically authorized, and shall exercise the following steps in responding to problems, suggestions, or concerns. Trustees should exercise discretion in using this process.
Procedure for an individual with a complaint/suggestion is:
- Listen for understanding.
- Encourage the individual to address the appropriate staff member.
- Offer to bring the issue to the President.
- Let the President decide what action, if any, to take. President then informs the board member(s) of the action taken, if any.
