GRCC is governed by the board of trustees, which consists of seven members elected at large in biennial elections. The president of the college serves as an ex officio member of the board. The trustees serve without compensation for overlapping terms of six years. Trustees operate under the policy governance model. The board meets once a month in a public session.

Notice of Closed Session
The Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees will meet in a closed session on Monday, August 17, 2026 beginning at 1:30 p.m. to discuss strategies for collective, bargaining pursuant to Section 8(1)(c) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Notice of Work Session
Immediately following the closed session they will meet in a work session. This meeting open to the public under the Open Meetings Act, 267 and will be held in the board conference Room on the fifth floor of Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall.
Notice of Regular Board Meeting
A regular meeting will begin at 4:15 p.m. This meeting will be held in the board room on the fifth floor of Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall and is open to the public under the Open Meetings Act, 267.
