The River Raider is GRCC’s new mascot and part of our brand identity, which is managed by the Marketing and Communications department.

The Mark

We use the mascot mark when we want to express pride in the GRCC community, let out our inner Raider, and have fun with the brand.

Although the River Raider can be used as a stand-alone graphic for approved projects, it should not take the place of GRCC’s primary logo.

Do not modify the mascot’s colors or add drop shadows or other effects. One-color versions of the mascot may be used on solid color backgrounds.

Do not alter the mascot mark, use it to create other marks or use other versions. Do not use an otter on any materials or communication that does not represent the official River Raider.

The Costume

There is no costume available yet. We will be working with a specialty vendor to commission a custom suit. It could take up to a year to make a costume, so stay tuned for more information.

Project Approval

GRCC’s Marketing and Communications department must review and approve all mascot-related projects. We are happy to work with faculty and staff on any design requests. Submit the request form to get started with a new project.

Examples of projects where using the mascot encourages school spirit and creates opportunities to connect with students, employees and alumni:

  • Admissions materials
  • Athletic apparel
  • Non-athletic apparel like t-shirts and hats
  • Stickers

Examples of projects where the mascot should not take the place of the GRCC logo or branding:

  • Advertising campaigns
  • Department logos
  • Program brochures and flyers
  • Program or department web pages
