Nursing, A.D.N.

The GRCC Nursing A.D.N. program combines classroom instruction and clinical lab work to provide students with direct, hands-on healthcare experience. A variety of clinical partnerships offer learning opportunities and connections with potential employers. Not surprisingly, our graduates leave with career-ready skills and excellent job prospects!

GRCC’s Nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN; 3390 Peachtree Rd. NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30326), as well as the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Admission Requirements

When you apply to GRCC, select the Health and Exercise Sciences Pathway. Once you are admitted to GRCC, you must submit a Health Admissions Application.

To be eligible for admission into the Associate Degree Nursing program, students must meet specific requirements, including completing foundational courses and maintaining a minimum grade point average. Please refer to the catalog for a full list of admission requirements.

Essential Abilities and Technical Standards

The Grand Rapids Community College Nursing Department faculty has specified essential abilities and technical standards critical to the success of students in any GRCC Nursing Department program. 

Students must demonstrate these essential abilities to succeed in their program of study. A full list of essential abilities and technical standards is available in the catalog.

Off-Campus Instruction

Off-site instruction accounts for approximately 40% of the Associate Degree of Nursing program and includes clinical instruction. The off-site locations are typically located within a 15-mile radius of the GRCC main campus. Students are responsible for transportation to the off-site locations and any other costs associated with attending the off-campus location. Partnering With Local Colleges

GRCC has partnered with Davenport, Ferris State University and Grand Valley State University to create a pathway for Associate Degree in Nursing graduates to move seamlessly into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
