MRI Certificate Application Process

Applying to the MRI Certificate Program

  1. Application will be accepted year round. All received applications will be reviewed no later than Jan 31 for the following summer cohort.
  2. All transcripts from other colleges or universities attended must be received by GRCC’s Student Services by January 1, of the year you are requesting admittance.

Admissions to the MRI Program at GRCC is based on points and a face-to-face interview process. Points are awarded based on academic achievement and the completion of the required documentation.

Application Requirements:

  • Please begin by filling out a health admissions application and choose the certificate program.
  • You will receive an email with the submission requirements for your chosen program.
  • Fill out the application packet described below.
  • Submit all items in an envelope addressed to the program director of Imaging Sciences.
  • The entire packet must be delivered or mailed to GRCC Main Campus, Room 502 in the College Park Plaza Building by January 31, of the year you are requesting admittance.

Note: There will be a required MRI orientation day, TBD for students accepted into the program. You will be notified via email if you are accepted.

Program Admissions Packet

The Packet must include:Points awarded if included
Copy of current ARRT card (Must have current registry with the
ARRT in the field of Radiography.)		15 pts
Completed PAPER GRCC Application. Everyone, including past and current students, must complete this, there is no charge (Available online at MRI Application or in 502 College Park Plaza Building)5 pts
Cover Letter: Please review the instructions and rubric.20 pts
Resume - documenting the past five (5) years of work experience5 pts

Two letters of Recommendation from persons that can speak to your healthcare skills:

  1. One from a current supervisor who has worked with you in the past three (3) years. This must be on company letterhead, signed, and mailed directly to the MRI Program Director at the address listed above.
  2. One from a Radiologist, Radiology PA, Radiology NP, or past Clinical Instructor.

Transcripts:

  • Unofficial transcripts from the school where student completed Radiologic Technology Degree, including transfer credits included in the admissions packet.
  • Official transcripts sent to GRCC Student Services.

Scoring Rubric

Average Grade (RAD Physics, BI 121 and 122 or equivalents)

  • 20 pts. – A, A-
  • 15 pts. – B+, B, B-
  • 10 pts. – C+, C

Each course is given a point value based on grade received, then averaged.
