This open house-style event prioritizes action! GRCC staff will be working onsite with families and students to:
- Explore programs and resources
- Complete the GRCC application
- Submit SAT scores
- Schedule orientation
- Complete the FAFSA

What to Expect
Preview and Prepare day will feature presentations, a resource fair, campus tours, swag giveaways and food!
Presentations
Lakeshore Campus presentations include:
- Academic Programs and Admissions presentation: 10:30 a.m.
- Financial Aid presentation: 11 a.m.
- FAFSA completion workshops: 10:15, 11:15 a.m. (signup required onsite)
Grand Rapids Campus presentations include:
- Academic programs and admissions presentation: 9:30 a.m.
- Financial aid presentation: 10 a.m.
- FAFSA completion workshops: 9:15, 10, 10:45, 11:30 a.m. (signup required onsite)
Resource Fair
The resource fair will feature academic schools and departments, student support services and more.
High School Student Portfolio Day
The Visual Arts Department is hosting its annual High School Student Portfolio Day in conjunction with the Main Campus Preview and Prepare Day on April 28, 2026.
High school seniors who are interested in pursuing studies in an art-related discipline are invited to review their portfolio of artworks with GRCC art and photography faculty. These reviews will be conducted in-person within the GRCC Art department classrooms.
Portfolio review is a process that helps prospective artists identify strengths and areas for improvement in a portfolio and to help identify directions an artist might want to pursue. Faculty reviewers who specialize in a variety of areas will be available:
- Painting
- Pottery
- Drawing
- Photography
- Illustration
- Video
- Graphic design
- Digital painting/artmaking
- Interior design
- Sculpture
To participate, please email Department Head Nick Antonakis at nantonak@grcc.edu to request an appointment and specify a discipline of interest from the list.
The deadline to register is April 3, 2026.
