Commencement (Graduation) Ceremony

Commencement 2021

To accommodate an in-person celebration, there will be multiple ceremonies held to ensure proper social distancing and health and safety protocols. The degree you are receiving will determine the day of your ceremony.

School of Arts and Sciences Ceremonies

  • Date: Friday, April 30
  • *Time: 4 p.m. or 7 p.m.
  • Location: GRCC Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse
  • Degrees: Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Music, and Associate of Science

School of Workforce Development Ceremonies

  • Date: Saturday, May 1
  • *Time: 11 a.m. or 2 p.m.
  • Location: GRCC Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse
  • Degrees: Associate of Applied Arts & Sciences, Associate of Business, Associate of Nursing and Certificates.

*Please note: Ceremony dates and times will be assigned by the college, but we will do our best to honor your preference. We must adhere to capacity restrictions, social distancing guidelines, and other health and safety protocols. 

Are you ready for Commencement?

Commencement ceremonies are held at the end of the Winter semester and are open to students who will complete their degree or certificate requirements within the current academic year.

Completing your degree or certificate in the summer?

Students completing their degree or certificate requirements during summer session of the current academic year are also invited to participate in the spring ceremony.

Graduation application

All students who will be completing their degree or certificate, must submit a graduation application to be able to participate in the commencement (graduation) ceremony. To ensure your name appears in the printed commencement program, you must submit your graduation application by noon Friday, April 2, 2021.
