About working on-campus
Fall & winter semesters
- There are 3 types of on-campus employment available during the fall & winter semesters (for more information, please go to “What is Work-Study?” on the menu links):
- Non Work-Study
- Work-Study
- Community Service Work-Study
- On-campus positions are located at one of several GRCC locations or with a select community organization.
- Available to current students enrolled in at least six credits.
- Work-Study & Community Work-Study require student to have a Work-Study Award.
- Pay rate is $12.50/hour.
- Did you know that GRCC Student Employees are not required to pay FICA taxes during the fall & winter semesters? This equates to an extra $0.95/hour. This means that a Student Employee that earns $12.50/hour at GRCC is the equivalent of earning approximately $13.45 elsewhere!
Summer semester:
- Positions are located at one of several GRCC locations.
- Pay rate is $12.50/hour.
- Work-Study is not available during the summer semester.
Students may work during the summer semester if they meet one of the following:
- Completed at least 6 credits in the previous winter semester (student has not graduated).
- Enrolled in at least 6 credits for the upcoming fall semester.
- Enrolled in at least 3 credits for summer semester.
Please note: GRCC Students who are employed by GRCC during the summer semester are required to pay FICA taxes if they are not enrolled in at least 3 credits during the summer semester.
