Working On-Campus

About working on-campus

Fall & winter semesters:

  • There are 3 types of on-campus employment available during the fall & winter semesters (for more information, please go to “What is Work-Study? on the menu links):
    1. Non Work-Study
    2. Work-Study
    3. Community Service Work-Study
  • On-campus positions are located at one of several GRCC locations or with a select community organization.
  • Available to current students enrolled in at least six credits.
  • Work-Study & Community Work-Study require student to have a Work-Study Award.
  • Pay rate is $12.50/hour.
  • Effective the start of the fall 2023 semester, Student Employees will receive parking privileges in the student lots on-campus at no cost.
  • Did you know that GRCC Student Employees enrolled in at least 6 credits during the fall & winter semesters are not required to pay FICA taxes? This equates to an extra $0.95/hour. This means that a Student Employee that earns $12.50/hour at GRCC is the equivalent of earning approximately $13.45 elsewhere!

Summer semester:

  • Positions are located at one of several GRCC locations.
  • Pay rate is $12.50/hour.
  • Effective the start of the fall 2023 semester, Student Employees will receive parking privileges in the student lots on-campus at no cost.
  • Work-Study is not available during the summer semester.

  • Completed at least 6 credits in the previous winter semester.
