Notice: New member ID cards from BCBS of Michigan

BCBS of Michigan is changing their pharmacy benefit manager to Optum Rx effective Jan. 1, 2022. This change impacts all BCBS members prescription fills/refills through both retail and mail order.

You’ll receive a new Blue Cross member ID card before the end of the year. You should continue to use your current member ID card at your pharmacy and your health care providers’ offices through Dec. 31, 2021. You need to use your newest card starting Jan. 1, 2022.

Notice: COVID-19 Test Coverage

WMHIP-BCBS now offers reimbursement of up to 8 at-home, over-the-counter (OTC) rapid diagnostic COVID-19 tests per member every 30 days. Read more.

The West Michigan Health Insurance Pool (WMHIP) was formed by eight West Michigan school districts that sought to reduce the cost of health insurance for employees and their families while giving them the best coverage possible. Today, WMHIP partners with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) to bring affordable health plans to more than 99 school districts.

We are excited to announce Livongo for Diabetes, a new health benefit being offered at no cost to you. The Livongo for Diabetes Program makes living with diabetes easier by providing you with a connected meter, unlimited strips, and coaching.

Eligible Members The program is offered to you and your family members with diabetes covered under the WMHIP medical plan.
