Welcome to the Adjunct Hub. This space provides important information and resources to help answer common questions and support your work with students.

Stay Connected

Join Adjunct Junction, a monthly online gathering hosted by the TLDE Adjunct Faculty Liaison. It’s a space for adjunct faculty to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and ask questions.

Adjunct Junction meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 12:30–1:30 p.m. Additional details are shared each month in the adjunct faculty newsletter email. You can sign up to attend through the Adjunct Junction registration page or use the link in your monthly Adjunct update to access the virtual meeting without registering.

New Adjunct Faculty Mentorship Program

The Adjunct Mentoring Program partners the TLDE Adjunct Faculty Liaison with new part-time faculty to provide dedicated support during their first semester at GRCC.

Program Goals

  • Build Community: Foster a strong sense of belonging at GRCC.
  • Promote Engagement: Encourage active participation, open dialogue, and questions.
  • Provide Support: Facilitate easy access to campus resources.
  • Create Connections: Expand opportunities to build a collaborative, cross-college network.

What to Expect

  • Semester-Long Guidance: A regular email newsletter providing step-by-step support and encouragement as you begin your work.
  • Networking Events: On-campus gatherings during the Fall and Winter semesters to connect with peers and the Adjunct Faculty Liaison.

Please Note: This program offers supplemental support and does not replace departmental mentoring initiatives.

Evaluation Process

In accordance with the Faculty Association Contract, academic leaders evaluate and observe adjunct and part-time non-classroom faculty during their first semester of hire, and a minimum of once every three years thereafter.

The evaluation process includes the following:

  1. All adjuncts evaluated will receive written feedback in a timely manner (within two [2] weeks) and will be asked to respond via email or meet with the observer to discuss the evaluation in a timely manner.
  2. Evaluations will identify and reinforce good practices and will encourage areas for development if any.
  3. All adjuncts’ classes every semester will be evaluated by students. Results of evaluations, both quantitative and qualitative (written comments), will be shared with the adjunct faculty member’s Department Head/Program Director and Associate Dean.
  4. For adjunct faculty members, regular evaluations can be used for the decision whether to rehire an individual for similar courses, professional duties, or full-time employment. Any concern raised from an evaluation will be discussed in a timely manner with the adjunct faculty member, if they request.
