Frequently Asked Questions (for students being showcased)

What am I expected to do?

A student being showcased, at minimum, will need to make themselves available for 1-hour during the event. During the hour, they will be expected to share their experience with other honors students.

What should I wear?

This is a business casual event. There will be a professional photographer at the event, so feel free to be as "vogue" as you like (blue steel). Veer away from hats, sweatpants, jeans, flip flops, etc.

Do I have to stay for the entire event?

No. We realize you are busy with classes and work. Stay for as long as you like, however we do expect you to be there for the required 1-hour.

What do I need to bring?

We have everything taken care of. One thing I would consider however is - if you have anything that is a reflection/artifact of your project(s) please bring it. Examples....the book you read, the artwork you created, or have pictures on your phone of these items. It's not necessary, but it can help when students are curious about the results of your experience.

Where is the ATC Secchia Piazza located?

Some of you might not be that familiar with the downtown Grand Rapids Campus. The address is Applied Technology Center (ATC) is 151 Fountain St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Here's a short video helping you to navigate our campus and make your way to our event. We will have plenty of signage and volunteers directing you to our location. Feel free to park in the ramps, a parking voucher will be provided.
