Travis has worked at Grand Rapids Community College since 2010 in a variety of roles, all centered on supporting student success. His passion for advising is rooted in a deep belief in the transformative power of education, not only to change individual lives, but to strengthen communities. As an advisor, Travis is especially drawn to work that empowers students to build confidence, exercise agency, and develop the skills needed to make meaningful, lasting change in their own lives. He is committed to demystifying higher education and helping students navigate college systems and processes so they can focus on what matters most: learning, growth, and reaching their goals. Travis earned both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Economics from Grand Valley State University. He is also a proud graduate of Grand Rapids Community College, an experience that continues to shape his student-centered approach to advising.
